Charity 3
For the past couple of years I have been donating to the City Rescue Mission/Mission Of Hope charity.  This is a very worthy charity in my opinion.  There are two reasons why I donate to this charity;
1.  In the last couple of years we have had the means to be able to donate to certain charities.
2.  And the most important... my husband and I once were very close to living on the streets ourselves.  Both of us had lost our jobs and were forced to sell our house.  With no other income available at that time, we moved back to my hometown and if it hadn't been for my mom, we wouldn't have had a place to stay.

There are many people who don't have anybody to rely upon and are forced to do the only thing they can... live on the streets.  There is nowhere they can go for help other than certain associations supported by the city and individual donations from the citizens of that city.

(the following are quotes from one of their letters to me)

"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;  His love endures forever.."  Psalm 107:1

"Nowhere is the unfailing love of our great and mighty God more evident to us at City Rescue Mission than in the faihful support of friends like you."

"With members (like me), the Sharing the Light Club, provides the financial and prayer covering they need to overcome the huge problems homeless people often face...  Drug addiction, mental illness, domestic violence, lack of education, ...."

"The City Rescue Mission/Mission Of Hope sees incredible victories every day.  Addicts who find the Lord, then give up their drug habits.  Estranged souls who draw on Christ's love to forgive those who hurt them.  Hard-working folks who gain the life skills they need to live independently once again."

Without people (like me) none of this would be possible.

(the above was taken from a letter to me, from the Executive Director )

Maybe you don't have one of these charitable activities in your city or town.  Contact your City Manager or the local Chamber Of Commerce.  You can do something too, if you see a homeless person.  Even if you can only give a tiny bit.  Sometimes a little bit goes a long way in helping these people get back on their feet.  And it would make you feel soooooooooo  good to know that you've helped someone get their life back in order.
If you've never experienced what my husband and I have, you wouldn't understand the feeling we get by donating to such an organization as this.  I know that times are hard now, but if we all pull together, these hard times will get better.  To help a homeless person get their life back would be the epitome of God's love.  And, it would earn you another jewel in your crown in Heaven.
Give a helping hand.
